Cotter pins, also called split pins, are simple wire fasteners designed to secure nuts and bolts in place. Each pin is bent with two prongs, featuring a looped or rounded end and a split end that spreads when inserted through a hole in a bolt, shaft, or castle nut. Once the prongs are bent outward, they lock the fastener to prevent loosening. For faulty goods
